Professional Outreach Committees

Diane Wood, Director
City of Albany
Term: June 2011 - May 2014

Welcome to Professional Outreach!

Our goal is to serve and educate our members through diversity and mentorship, as well as grow and strengthen OPPA through outreach programs and membership options.  As the Director of Professional Outreach, I would like to invite and encourage any member of OPPA to explore the opportunities available with the following Committees: Membership, Mentorship, Diversity, and Professional Outreach.  All of the Committees would welcome new members and volunteers. Contact the Committee Chairs or browse the Committee pages for additional committee information and events.

Membership Committee
Co-Chairs - Sandra Kalin  - DAS State Procurement Office & Stephanie Lehman - Department of Revene

The OPPA Membership Committee strives to manage the membership application and renewal process timely and efficiently.  We maintain the Chapter membership roster and provide information and outreach to new and prospective members.

Mentorship Committee
Chair - Sarah Roth
Secretary of State

The Mentorship Committee is responsible for administration of the Mentorship Program. The Committee accepts mentorship applications as submitted and matches mentees with mentors and works with them to establish a mentor/mentee relationship.  They also periodically monitor and counsel mentor/mentee progress and report all committee activity at Board meetings.

Diversity Committee
Chair - Barb Hall
Oregon Lottery

The Diversity Committee is responsible for the development and administration of an annual OPPA Diversity Plan. The Diversity Chair facilitates and collaborates with the committee members.

The Diversity Committee has adopted NIGP's Diversity Definition, which states: “Diversity is a collection of individuals bringing together varied demographic, cultural, human, intellectual, and philosophical differences to help create an environment that honors and respects those differences in a safe and supportive environment.”

Professional Outreach Committee
Chair - Brian Smith
Multnomah County

The Professional Outreach Committee is responsible for developing relationships with professional organizations, community based organizations, and public entities.   The Committee represents OPPA at government meetings, builds relationships with colleges and universities, and both attends and provides information at career/employment fairs and the Reverse Vendor Trade Show.
